Australia's favourite steam train, runs everyday except Christmas Day. The Puffing Billy Railway runs from Belgrave to Gembrook.
Normal tourist route is to board the train at Belgrave @ 10.30am and take the hour-long journey through the Dandenong Ranges to the Lakeside station. You can either hop off for a lunch picnic by a huge lake (Station : Lakeside) and hop to the train back to Belgrave @ 2.25pm.
It's a tradition to hang your legs out the carriage windows when riding the Puffing Billy. It's so fun to do so where you can take a wonderful opportunity to relax and breathe in the fresh air whilst the train makes its way through the temperate rainforest. Remember to hang on tight and tight fit your shoes!
